The muscular system can bend and straighten in many directions. The muscles work on opposing teams that creates movement throughout the body. If muscles didn't move through the body, then that person would not move easily. For example: if a person didn't have any muscles, they would not be able to turn a door knob because of the lack of help from their muscles. The muscles in the body also help other parts of the body. For example: when someone takes a breath, the muscles in between the ribs and the lungs start to relax for a moment, which would allow the lungs to expand. When someone swallows, the muscles in the esophagus would interact with the digestive system. The nervous system tells all of the muscles when, how, and the speed to move.
